Raising the Stakes: Turning Little Problems into Major Crises

Using short readings from  "Brothers at War" as examples, Don shows how to increase the jeopardy for characters in a story -- raising the stakes to increase the drama.  On page one, the challenge with whether Jake will be accepted by the cool kids; a few pages later, it's whether Eli will be able to save his life.  How do we make that happen?
