Biography

Author of 5 novels for young people and many articles and reviews for adults, and a past-president of The Canadian Society of Children's Authors, Illustrators and Performers. (CANSCAIP.) Gisela has always loved books, stories and nature. She earned her BA at McMaster University. For 13 years she taught elementary school, including 4 years as a JK to 8 school librarian. She then taught creative writing courses at Mohawk College, and at McMaster University. She enjoys giving book presentations and writing workshops across Canada. Her latest book, The Farmerettes was a finalist for the Geoffrey Bilson Award for Historical Fiction for Young People.
